Solid and Liquid Waste Management

Marcela Ivankovich

Currently, due to the development of society, solid and liquid waste has increased, which has become a problem in many countries. Every day, a large amount of waste is produced, such as: packaging, wrapping, glass bottles, plastic, stereo. We use disposable disposable products, which have a high degradation life, often unnecessary.

Inadequate management of solid and liquid waste carries a number of consequences, such as: contamination of soils and aquifers, which in turn affect the quality and safety of food, proliferation of pests, and consequently of diseases , wildlife mortality, erosion and corrosion of soils due to the accumulation of substances with these characteristics.

Similarly, the example we give to new generations will influence the protection or degradation of the environment. For this reason, it is essential to properly manage solid and liquid waste. In Costa Rica there is law 8839 that regulates the integral management of waste, as well as the Institutional Environmental Management Programs (PGIA), as well as international standards ISO 14001 and International Treaties. Therefore, we advise and train you in this matter, thus contributing to the environment.
